EDUCATION: Associate Degree required. Bachelor's Degree preferred. EDUCATION FIELD OF STUDY: Healthcare or Computer Science related field preferred. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Current, valid driver's license issued in the state of legal residence required. Operate FRHS owned vehicles required. Previous Experience Requirements: EXPERIENCE: Previous experience with HL7, LIS and/or RIS required. Previous experience supporting clinical applications preferred. Previous experience working with a lab system preferred. Skills/Knowledge Requirements: SKILLS: Language Skills - Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language required. Analytical Skills required. KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of clinical systems and how clinicians interact with software required. ## Description In cooperation with the Manager of Clinical Informatics, this role will assist in the coordination of project and support resources, responsible for communication between teams within the IT Department and business owners. Works independently and within team structures across the organization. Uses analytical skills and expertise to investigate, resolve and/or escalate support issues. Participates in workflow design and system build to gain in depth knowledge of why workflows have been designed as they have. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, support of openlink, laboratory information system, and radiology information systems. The support of these systems may include monitoring of systems, building, troubleshooting issues in applications, testing new releases/upgrade, and support of end users. Responsibilities: Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities : 1. Maintains a positive effective relationship between IS team and clinical departments by acting as a liaison when needed. 2. Works with staff to recommend and implement workflow and technical solutions that address operational, procedural and systems related issues across the facility's applications. 3. Responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of clinical applications to elicit optimum results. 4. Works independently on build projects with vendor support. 5. Independently resolves or escalates issues appropriately. 6. Participates in testing and implementation of system upgrades in cooperation with technical staff, the applicable departments and software vendor. 7. Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his or her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job-related hazards. 8. Must be able to sit and/or perform computer-oriented tasks for a protracted amount of time. 9. Able to research and apply basic understanding of application setup and support of clinical information systems. 10. LIS specific tasks include - * + Build and maintain instrument interfaces + Build and maintain system interfaces, e.g., reference lab, state department of health, middleware + Build new testsBuild and maintain OL monitors, collection managers Coordinates with Faith Health IT staff on projects Hours will be dependent on patient census and workload.
