## Description

We are seeking an experienced Applications Contract Engineer / Database Developer to support a mission-critical defense application. This role focuses on maintaining, enhancing, and developing features within an existing database environment rather than designing a database from the ground up. The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with Sybase, along with application development skills in C++ and Java., * Develop, maintain, and enhance applications that interface with existing databases.

 * Work within an established Sybase database environment and support migration or development efforts involving MariaDB.
 * Write, modify, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database interactions.
 * Develop and maintain software using C++ and Java.
 * Troubleshoot application and database issues and implement effective solutions.
 * Collaborate with software engineers, database administrators, and systems engineers to deliver new capabilities.
 * Support software integration, testing, and deployment activities.
 * Maintain technical documentation and follow secure software development practices.
