Information and Resources Support System (IRSS): Monitor the unclassified IRSS database to review documents for potential treaty implications. Preferred Qualifications: Education: Master's degree Years of Experience: Eight (8) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline; to include twelve (12) years of DoD experience ## Description Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a Policy Analyst (Arms Control) to support Headquarters United States Air Force (HAF/A10). As the central Air Staff office for these matters, HAF/A10 coordinates Department of the Air Force (DAF) policy for interagency arms control negotiations, oversees compliance with related agreements, and serves as the primary DAF liaison for international arms control and nonproliferation treaties. In this role, you will provide subject matter expertise to support implementation, training, and compliance activities for all arms control agreements affecting DAF operations. The HAF/A10 contract delivers technical, analytical, operational, programmatic, and planning subject-matter expertise to HAF/A10 and its component divisions to advance national security strategic plans, policies, concepts, and initiatives. This is a full-time, on-site position located at Joint Base Anacostia Bolling in Washington, DC. ***This position is contingent upon contract award.*** Responsibilities: * Policy & Position Development. Assist in the analysis and provide draft inputs for official DAF policy, position statements, and responses to Higher Headquarters (HHQ) taskings on treaty-related issues. * Treaty Impact Analysis Produce analytical reports, impact assessments, and briefing materials on how proposed and existing treaties affect DAF capabilities and operations for government use. * Compliance & Implementation Oversight. Conduct assessments and generate reports to support DAF-wide implementation and assist in the verification of compliance with all applicable arms control agreements. * Inspection Readiness & Support. Provide analysis and draft inputs for inspection readiness plans, prepare pre-inspection materials, and provide on-site coordination and support for all designated facilities subject to treaty inspections. * Analysis of In-Force Treaties and Agreements. Conduct continuous research and analysis of the policy and technical details of all current treaties and agreements affecting the DAF. Provide draft inputs and recommendations for implementation strategies, compliance guidance, and operational procedures for DAF personnel. * Analysis of Proposed Treaties and Agreements. Perform research and analysis on the policy and technical aspects of contemplated treaty provisions, negotiation documents, and implementation plans. Produce detailed assessments on the potential impact of proposed treaties on DAF policy and capabilities. * Documentation & Provide draft inputs and recommendations for official guidance documents, including summaries, pamphlets, and guides for all relevant Guidance arms control treaties. Provide analysis and recommendations for updates to DAF Instructions (AFIs) to reflect current treaty implementation plans. * Interagency & International Forum Support. Develop studies, analyses, point papers, and briefings to support DAF positions in DoW, USG, and international deliberations. Provide analysis and recommendations for Treaty Compliance Review Groups (CRGs) and other consultative bodies. * Staff Action & Tasking Support. Prepare draft formal responses to HHQ taskings. Provide analysis and draft inputs for official service positions on treaties under negotiation, delivered via Staff Summary Sheets (SSSs) or other staff instruments that outline findings and recommendations for government approval. * Process Evaluation & Improvement. Continuously evaluate DAF treaty compliance processes. Identify systemic shortcomings and recommend improvements to existing procedures. Produce formal papers and briefings to present recommended changes for government consideration. * Inspection & Event Management. Track all arms control inspections and events, serving as the primary point of contact for related inquiries. Provide regular status updates to DAF/A10 leadership.
