The successful candidate will be part of our Software Development Team and assist in maintaining, enhancing, and developcreating new features for our desktop application (StormWiseTM), working closely with our software engineers and subject-matter experts. The candidate's initial primary focus will be learning and supporting the architecture of the existing codebase. Ultimately, the candidate will be tasked with optimizing the existing codebase and developing new features and enhancements. Streamline Technologies Inc. is a software development firm located in the Orlando, FL area, specializing in water resources engineering applications and flood forecasting. Our philosophy and reputation are built on providing innovative software solutions such as the widely used hydrodynamic stormwater model, StormWiseTM (formerly ICPR ®), and our flood forecasting technology, FloodWiseTM. Our water resources and flood forecasting applications include complex physics-based mathematical models that simulate the rainfall-runoff process, natural & man-made drainage system hydraulics, groundwater flow, water quality, and green stormwater infrastructure. Our applications center around a geospatial graphical interface that utilizes aerial imagery, thematic-based polygons, and digital elevation models. Responsibilities * Own and evolve the geospatial rendering engine, the cartographic display layer that visualizes aerial imagery, thematic polygon layers, terrain surfaces, and drainage networks within our desktop platform * Build, maintain, and enhance the drawing and editing tools that engineers use to create, modify, and inspect hydraulic/hydrologic model geometry directly on the map * Implement and optimize 2D/3D rendering pipelines using DirectX (raster tiles, vector overlays, TINs, contour surfaces) * Develop computational geometry algorithms for spatial operations such as polygon intersection, triangulation, coordinate transformations, and surface interpolation * Integrate geospatial data formats and coordinate systems (shapefiles, geodatabases, raster formats) * Collaborate directly with subject-matter experts to optimize the existing codebase and develop new features and enhancements. * Participate in code reviews, technical documentation, unit testing, and continuous improvement of engineering practices * Mentor junior staff and assist with the technical direction of our platform, The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
