Must be able to arrive at local sites within 90 minutes during accepted coverage periods. Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, working smartphone, and dependable cellular access. Must provide basic hand tools necessary for general troubleshooting and maintenance. Basic mechanical and maintenance ability. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Comfortable using computers, mobile applications, email, and Slack. Able to work independently while coordinating with a remote operations team. Clear, timely, and professional written and verbal communication. Willing to learn Bitcoin mining equipment, off-grid power systems, Foreman, and MaintainX. Able to work outdoors in West Texas conditions and safely lift at least 50 pounds. Preferred Experience Generator maintenance or troubleshooting. Small-engine, diesel, natural-gas, automotive, oil and gas, industrial maintenance, electrical, telecommunications, networking, IT, or data center experience. Experience using a multimeter and diagnostic tools. Familiarity with Bitcoin miners or off-grid power generation is helpful but not required. OSHA, electrical safety, forklift, or related certifications are a plus., * What mechanical, generator, electrical, networking, computer, or industrial troubleshooting experience do you have? * Do you have reliable transportation, a smartphone, and basic hand tools? * Have you previously worked as a 1099 independent contractor? * Are you comfortable working outdoors and responding to occasional nights or weekend service calls? * Describe a situation where you diagnosed and resolved an unfamiliar equipment problem. ## Description We are seeking a dependable local contractor to respond to service calls at off-grid Bitcoin mining and data center sites near Fort Stockton, Texas. You will inspect equipment, identify problems, perform basic maintenance, troubleshoot Bitcoin miners and supporting infrastructure, and communicate closely with our remote operations team. No prior Bitcoin mining experience is required - we are glad to train the right person who has strong troubleshooting instincts and a solid mechanical or technical background. Important: This role requires acknowledging service calls within 15 minutes and arriving on-site within 90 minutes during any coverage period you accept. Please review the compensation structure below before applying. Responsibilities Acknowledge service requests within 15 minutes of receiving them. Arrive at the assigned Fort Stockton-area site within 90 minutes during accepted coverage periods. Inspect and troubleshoot Bitcoin miners, generators, networking equipment, power connections, and supporting infrastructure. Check miner status, error codes, configuration, temperature, power, and network connectivity. Determine whether an issue involves a miner, network connection, power source, generator, fuel system, or other site infrastructure. Restart and perform basic configuration of Bitcoin miners under remote direction when necessary. Perform preventive maintenance, equipment cleaning, inspections, and minor repairs. Document all visits, findings, photographs, materials used, and work completed. Communicate professionally through phone, email, and Slack. Learn and use Foreman miner-management software and MaintainX maintenance-management software. Escalate advanced electrical, mechanical, generator, networking, or fuel-system problems to the appropriate specialist.
