## About the Role

Must be authorized to work in the United States. Position is not eligible for sponsorship., Required:

 * 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including at least 6 years in a managerial role
 * Experience leading technology in a complex organization, spanning several of: strategy, cybersecurity, enterprise systems, infrastructure, budgets, or vendor management
 * Working knowledge of cloud/SaaS environments, identity and access management, and cybersecurity operations
 * Strong communication skills able to translate technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences
 * A collaborative, low-ego leadership style with a genuine willingness to be hands-on when needed

Nice to Have:

 * Experience in a nonprofit, public policy, or mission-driven organization
 * Familiarity with formal frameworks like NIST, ITIL, or ISO 27001
 * Experience with AI governance or responsible AI adoption

## Description

* Develop and execute a multiyear technology roadmap aligned with the organization's mission and priorities
 * Serve as a trusted advisor to the COO and leadership on technology investments, cybersecurity, data governance, and emerging technology
 * Establish clear, transparent processes for technology decision-making and change management, * Lead and continuously improve the organization's cybersecurity program
 * Maintain safeguards including identity and access management, MFA, endpoint protection, and incident response
 * Run security awareness training and manage incident response protocols
 * Test business continuity and disaster recovery plans

Responsible AI & Emerging Technology

 * Lead development of a responsible AI governance framework
 * Set standards for safe, ethical use of AI tools across the organization
 * Vet AI vendors on data privacy, retention, and security practices

Infrastructure & Enterprise Systems

 * Ensure reliability and security of cloud services, networks, devices, and collaboration tools
 * Oversee core enterprise systems (finance, HR, CRM, knowledge management platforms)
 * Manage day-to-day technology operations and support

Budget & Vendor Management

 * Manage the technology operating and capital budget
 * Negotiate vendor contracts and manage technology partners
 * Identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary spend
