and disaster recovery procedures * Establish operational procedures: Automated deployment scripts, backup/recovery automation, cluster start/stop procedures, and incident response playbooks * Conduct knowledge transfer: Train customer DevOps/SRE teams on Kafka cluster operations, connector deployment, monitoring best practices and troubleshooting techniques * Provide post-deployment support: support during critical deployments, performance optimization, and production stabilization Minimum Requirements: * Experienced Confluent Kafka Platform Administrator to design, deploy and manage enterprise-grade Kafka clusters and Kafka Connect infrastructure in customer AWS cloud environments. dashboards, Confluent Control Center, JMX metrics, CloudWatch alarms for under-replicated partitions, consumer lag, disk usage, and connector failures * Design and implement disaster recovery: Multi-region replication strategies (active-passive/active-active), backup procedures, RPO/RTO requirements, and failover testing * Manage Kafka Connect operations: Deploy connector plugins from Confluent Hub, configure Single Message Transforms (SMTs), implement error handling and dead letter queues, troubleshoot connector failures * Conduct capacity planning and scaling: Calculate throughput requirements (MB/s, messages/s), storage capacity, auto-scaling strategies and load testing using Kafka performance tools * Implement rolling upgrades: Zero-downtime Kafka version upgrades, connector plugin updates, security patch application, and rollback procedures * Create comprehensive documentation: Architecture diagrams, configuration baselines, security implementation guides, troubleshooting runbooks
