Overview: The mobile banking app that millions of customers touch every day is being rebuilt around a modern, modular Android architecture - not screens bolted onto a monolith, not a decade of accreted tech debt, but a scalable, testable, high-performance app engineered to move fast without breaking underload. This team is doing that work: designing and shipping the architecture that powers next-generation mobile experiences across the Company's consumer surface area. What You'll Be Working On: * Write code, design systems, debug production issues, and push into an app that real customers depend on to move real money * Work directly with product owners, mobile architects, and adjacent feature teams to take experiences from design mock to production on a one-year engagement that touches real customer volume from day one * Designing and building feature modules in Kotlin with clean architecture (MVVM/MVI) * Building declarative UI in Jetpack Compose - state hoisting, recomposition performance, custom layouts, and interop with legacy Views * Managing async and reactive state with Coroutines and Flow - structured concurrency, backpressure, and lifecycle-aware collection * Integrating with backend services (REST/GraphQL/gRPC), offline caching, and secure local storage * Owning app performance - cold start, Jank/frame time, memory, and APK/bundle size * Building and maintaining automated test suites (unit, UI/Espresso/Compose testing, screenshot tests) that catch regressions before they reach production * Deploying through CI/CD pipelines with staged rollouts, feature flags, & crash/ANR monitoring * Instrumenting the app for observability * Participating in design & architecture reviews ## Related Videos - [Introducing Kotlin Multiplatform in an existing project](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/276-introducing-kotlin-multiplatform-in-an-existing-project) - [Kotlin Multiplatform - True power of native code reuse](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/4-kotlin-multiplatform-true-power-of-native-code-reuse) - [Modular Secrets to Lightning-Fast Android Builds](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1428-modular-secrets-to-lightning-fast-android-builds) - [The Dark Corners of Kotlin Multiplatform](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100143-the-dark-corners-of-kotlin-multiplatform) - [Putting the Graph In GraphQL With The Neo4j GraphQL Library](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/257-putting-the-graph-in-graphql-with-the-neo4j-graphql-library) - [Moving from Java to Kotlin](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/384-moving-from-java-to-kotlin) ## Related Articles - [Cross Platform Mobile Development Frameworks to Use in 2025](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/404-cross-platform-mobile-development-frameworks-to-use-in-2025) - [A Guide to Choosing the Right Tools for App Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/391-a-guide-to-choosing-the-right-tools-for-app-developers) - [Basic And Advanced Networking in Dart and Flutter](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/112-basic-and-advanced-networking-in-dart-and-flutter) - [Dev Digest 120 - Apple and peers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/455-dev-digest-120-apple-and-peers) - [Dev Digest 121 - AI goes offline](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/456-dev-digest-121-ai-goes-offline) - [8 No-Code App Builders](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/300-8-no-code-app-builders)
