nBAE Systems is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to support our work as a prime contractor on high-profile U.S. Navy facility development, recapitalization, and construction projects. Accuracy, integrity, subject matter expertise, and the ability to work well independently and with others are important traits we expect the successful candidate to possess and demonstrate.\n, * Professional work experience with mechanical HVAC, plumbing and gas & fluid distribution systems including HVAC equipment sizing and selection, building domestic water & sewage system sizing, piping sizing calculations.

 * Experience performing requirements and constructability reviews of detailed design submittal packages
\n

 * At least 8 years of related professional work experience.
\n

 * Must be proficient with MS Office Suite programs including Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams
\n

 * Desire to attain a Professional Engineer License once in the position.
\n

Technical Knowledge and Proficiency\n

 * Professional knowledge and application of ASHREA 62.1 and 90.1 Standards
\n

 * Knowledge of Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS)

 * Experience in the design, development or implementation of MILCON facilities

 * Experience was building energy modelling software, such as Trane Trace, Carrier HAP

## Description

nBAE Systems is seeking an experienced senior mechanical engineer to support our work as a prime contractor on high-profile U.S Navy weapon systems projects. This senior mechanical will support the Navy Program Manager responsible for Strategic Systems Planning (SSP) Facilities Acquisition at TRIDENT Submarine Bases, primarily at Kings Bay, Georgia and Bangor, Washington, in developing the assigned projects from concept to operational stage. This senior position is responsible for developing conceptual mechanical system requirements, estimated HVAC loads, estimated Bill of Materials, and facility requirements documentation. The selected candidate will provide technical peer reviews of architectural/engineering design submittals, support the develop of Facilities Design Criteria & Facilities Evaluation Testing Criteria, and perform constructability reviews of construction design documentation. Candidate is also responsible to conduct/prepare engineering study reports and will
make recommendations to solve facilities issues. The senior mechanical engineer will have experience in the application of various HVAC related equipment to ensure the most effective system type is selected for the design of the facility. The senior engineer will have working knowledge of ASHREA Standards such as 62.1, 90.1 and 183, including the life cycle cost analysis and ventilation calculations.\n

\nThe senior engineer is responsible for providing input to comprehensive MILCON documentation and the mechanical portion of preliminary construction cost estimates.\n
