Such alerts shall be submitted and consulted by the competent national authorities of the Member States. * The SIS consists of a central part (CSIS) and a national part (NSIS). The national part is developed and managed within DRI/BINAT. * In 2013, the second generation of the SIS (SIS II) was introduced, with additional features, such as the ability to add fingerprints and photographs to reports. * In March 2023, the SIS was renewed (SIS Recast) with new alerts, improved data and more advanced functionalities.
