You'll spend more time writing, testing, deploying, and maintaining code and infrastructure than doing data science. We're looking for someone with 1-3 years of experience, ideally from a software-heavy environment, who wants to own systems end-to-end with support from a senior team., * 1-3 years of experience in a software engineering, data engineering, or similarly software-heavy role. * Proficiency in at least one programming language, ideally Python, TypeScript and/or Go (Rust/ Java / Scala also welcome). * Solid software fundamentals: testing, version control (git), debugging, and clean, maintainable code. * Working knowledge of SQL and a good grasp of data processing concepts (data quality, deep-diving to find root causes). * Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, ideally AWS. * Exposure to infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipelines. * Understanding of APIs and system communication. * Strong communication skills, able to work with non-technical stakeholders and explain technical topics clearly. * Able to operate in a fast-paced, self-driven environment. Nice to Have * Experience with a data processing framework (Spark/PySpark, Pandas, or similar). * Experience with columnar/analytical databases or data formats (Clickhouse, Iceberg/Parquet) or BI tooling (QuickSight/Superset/Looker). * Experience with non-relational data stores (MongoDB, or GraphQL etc). * Interest or experience in AI/ML tooling, LLM applications, or workflow automation. * Prior work in regulated industry (payments, financial services). ## Description The Data Engineer builds and operates Silverflow's data platform: the pipelines, datasets, and services that turn microservice event data into the reporting, analytics, and AI products the whole company relies on.
