 * VMware or Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD)

## Description

Join our Enterprise Hosting Services team at the forefront of secure, innovative hybrid infrastructure for one of the nation's most critical institutions. We're seeking a talented Platform Engineer to help architect, deploy, and manage our AWS and on-premises platforms while supporting emerging AI capabilities, modern containerized workloads, and enterprise virtualization environments.

What You'll Do:

 * Design, implement, and maintain hybrid infrastructure spanning AWS GovCloud and on-premises data centers, ensuring compliance with federal security standards

 * Manage Kubernetes fleet operations across AWS EKS, on-premises Mirantis Kubernetes Engine (MKE), and VMware vSphere with Kubernetes (VKS)

 * Lead application modernization initiatives, migrating and optimizing workloads across cloud and on-premises environments

 * Administer and optimize hyper-visor clusters (VMware vSphere, ESXi) for enterprise workloads

 * Manage Splunk infrastructure for centralized logging, monitoring, and security analytics

 * Implement comprehensive audit logging, monitoring, and observability solutions across hybrid environments

 * Support security engineering initiatives including vulnerability management, compliance automation, and security hardening

 * Support emerging AI/ML capabilities and cloud-native solutions

 * Build and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform and GitLab CI/CD pipelines

 * Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile environment using Jira for project management

 * Ensure systems meet NIST 800-53 and FISMA compliance requirements

 * Automate operational tasks and improve platform reliability across both cloud and on-premises infrastructure

 * Contribute to architectural decisions and hybrid cloud strategy
