## About the Role

* 5+ years' technical experience in Access Control, Video Surveillance, Intrusion Detection and Network Design.
 * Experience in security system design for healthcare, government, K-12, critical infrastructure, enterprise customers and higher education environments.
 * Experience with one or more of the followings software platforms is a bonus:
 + Genetec, Software House, Lenel, Gallagher, and Milestone.
 * Experience with networks and IT fundamentals, servers, etc. is a plus.
 * Experience with government systems, including PIV and CIV cards, FICAM, HSPD-12, FIPS 201-2 standards is a plus., * A bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience (4+ years) with a technical focus.
 * Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (i.e. Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.).
 * Team oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
 * Hands-on experience with one or more of the security manufacturers noted above.

## Description

Working in the Engineering department, the Solution Engineer will interface with UT internal resources to support the essential job duties listed below. These duties will be fulfilled by interacting with the UT Business Development, Operations, and Engineering departments, as assigned, for security system design and implementation as well as various other support tasks. The selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating internal resources to drive completion of projects. This position reports to the Solutions Engineering Manager., * Work closely with engineering and business development resources to design security systems based on client-provided specifications as well as industry standard practices.

 * Site surveys as deemed necessary to support system design and/or documentation updates.

 * Support will include all of UT's customer base, with a focus on the west coast, however nationwide travel may be required on occasion. Expected travel is estimated to be 25-35%.

Support for RFP review/response to include requirements assessment and drawing takeoffs.

 * Familiarity with GC construction projects, bid/spec RFPs.

Design/Build opportunities, working with clients and end-users to plan, develop and propose physical security solutions to meet customer requirements while utilizing the products within our line card.

Bill of materials development and equipment specification.

Creation of technical Scope of Works to outline proposed project installation and configuration.
