## About the Role

* 5+ years of hands-on experience administering VMware virtualization environments
 * Experience with cloud or hybrid environments (Azure VMware Solution, AWS, etc.)
 * Scripting or automation experience (PowerShell, PowerCLI, Python)
 * Experience with monitoring tools and infrastructure-as-code concepts
 * Prior experience in large enterprise or regulated environments
 * Strong experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter
 * Solid understanding of Windows and Linux server environments
 * Working knowledge of enterprise storage (SAN/NAS) and networking concepts (VLANs, NIC teaming, DNS, TCP/IP)
 * Experience supporting production environments with high availability requirements
 * Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues under time constraints

## Description

Kforce has a client in Irving, TX that is seeking a VMWare Engineer. Summary: We are seeking an experienced Contractor VMware Engineer to support the design, implementation, administration, and optimization of our VMware-based virtualization environment. This role will focus on maintaining stable, secure, and high-performing infrastructure while supporting ongoing projects, upgrades, and operational needs. Key Responsibilities:

 * Design, deploy, and administer VMware environments including vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and related components
 * Perform day-to-day operational support, monitoring, and troubleshooting of virtual infrastructure
 * Execute upgrades, patches, and migrations for VMware platforms and associated tools
 * Support capacity planning, performance tuning, and availability improvements
 * Configure and maintain HA, DRS, vMotion, and fault tolerance features
 * Collaborate with storage, network, security, and server teams to ensure integrated solutions
 * Support backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., VMware SRM, Veeam, Commvault, or similar)
 * Assist with incident response, root cause analysis, and documentation
 * Provide technical input for infrastructure projects and architecture decisions
 * Create and maintain operational documentation and runbooks
