This role serves as the Knowledge Manager, acting in an Enterprise-wide position to lead the structured organization of information, particularly documentation, to ensure its consistency and alignment across business units regarding how information is categorized, maintained and accessed. Standard enterprise taxonomy, classification and accessibility of content is vital in large and growing companies and acting as a knowledge owner this role will partner with the information technology organization to identify inconsistencies, recommend practical improvements, enhance cohesion across existing systems and repositories, and facilitate the development of standard enterprise-wide platforms. The Knowledge Manager will play a central role in creating and reinforcing documentation standards, improving discoverability, and promoting disciplined information and knowledge management practices across the enterprise. This position requires a hands-on individual and natural collaborator who understands the complexity of running a large portfolio of projects within a space and defense company or similar project-based industry. An understanding of functional groups, operational processes and document types managed by an industrial company, along with working knowledge of enterprise class applications that support such organizations (e.g. ERP, HCM, EPM, CRM etc.) and the master data management considerations that go along with them is beneficial.
