## About the Role

* Strong experience (typically 8+ years) within network & security, with proven experience in architecture and design:
 * Datacenter networking
 * Cisco (Nexus, ACI)
 * Security
 * Palo Alto (NGFW, Prisma)
 * Firewalling, VPN, segmentation, zero trust
 * Load balancing
 * Virtualization
 * VMware NSX

Multi-vendor enterprise environments

Additional:

 * Experience with network automation / CI/CD / scripting is a plus
 * Experience with high availability and mission critical environments
 * Experience with migration and transformation processes

Education & certifications

 * Bachelor/Master IT or equivalent through experience
 * Cisco certification (CCNP or higher)
 * PCNSE and/or ACI certification are strong pluses

Soft skills

 * Architectural thinking combined with hands-on mentality
 * Strong communication skills (technical + stakeholders)
 * Coaching and knowledge sharing
 * Analytical and problem-solving
 * Proactive and independent

REQUIRED Skills

## Description

* For a client within the Flemish Government, we are looking for a senior Network & Security profile with clear experience in architecture and design, combined with a willingness to also take on hands-on operational work.
 * You will be part of the Network & Security Team and play a key role in designing, improving and helping to implement the network and security landscape within a complex enterprise environment.

This role combines:

 * architecture & design (±50%)
 * hands-on engineering & troubleshooting (±50%)

Responsibilities

 * Defining and developing network & security architectures (HLD/LLD)
 * Drafting technical roadmaps and standards
 * Leading and supporting data center projects and migrations
 * Translating business and technical requirements into scalable solutions
 * Reviewing and monitoring the quality of implementations
 * Actively participating in operational support and complex troubleshooting (L3)
 * Supporting critical incidents and problem analysis
 * Coaching and supervising engineers within the team
 * Collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners
