Experience in application support within Financial Services, ideally bankingKnowledge of banking platforms and their security/assurance requirementsExperience supporting enterprise applications on Linux, with database and middleware platformsConfidence managing third-party vendor relationships against SLAsFamiliarity with UK payment schemes and payment technologiesExperience within ITIL and information security management frameworksExperience with enterprise monitoring/alerting toolsAbility to write SQL queries, stored procedures, and reportsExperience configuring Single Sign-On solutionsStrong experience with an enterprise IT service management platform (change, incident, problem, and asset management), Change-focused with sound judgement and strong problem-solving skillsA strong team player, equally effective working independentlyOrganised, with good planning skillsA clear, confident communicator

## Description

An Application Support specialist is required by a well-established mid-tier bank to support their core banking applications and systems. They are a long-standing UK bank offering private and commercial banking, wealth planning, and investment management, built on relationship-led service backed by modern technology.
The Role
You'll support their core banking applications and systems, resolving incidents and problems that affect the services the business relies on, and help design and implement new systems alongside senior technical leadership. The team is split across an Application Support function and two specialist support teams. Expect a mix of roughly half hands-on troubleshooting, a third working with external technology suppliers, and the remainder supporting change projects - currently weighted toward reactive work, with an ongoing shift toward more proactive monitoring.Customer outcomes and regulatory conduct standards sit at the centre of the role., Resolve incidents and requests within SLAManage problems using an ITIL-aligned approachIdentify and mitigate technology risksMaintain documentation and knowledge articles supporting information security and compliance standardsPerform regular health checks on critical servicesRemediate vulnerabilities from security testing and scanningBuild out proactive monitoring and alertingShare knowledge and coach colleagues across the wider IT function
