You ask good questions. You quickly earn stakeholder trust. You know when to challenge and when to facilitate. You're comfortable moving between technical conversations and executive-level discussions. Most importantly, you enjoy helping organisations make better strategic technology decisions. ## Description Predominantly remote - but will need 2 days per week onsite in Surrey for the first 2 weeks, and then again in the final week for presentations/wrap up. £750 - £830 p/d (Umbrella/Inside IR35) We're supporting a boutique IT Transformation & Advisory Consultancy and a Global FS client with an Infrastructure strategy engagement. This is not a traditional solution design or delivery role. You'll work alongside senior technology leaders to validate and refine an enterprise infrastructure roadmap covering multiple technology domains ahead of an Executive Committee review. The technical direction has largely been established, working alongside the clients technology product managers, you'll review eleven infrastructure domains including compute, hosting, server and data centre technologies, validating current state assessments, future direction, life cycle planning and investment priorities. You'll need to validate things, overlay commercial considerations such as contract renewal dates and technology life cycles, and help shape pragmatic recommendations for executive stakeholders. * Engage with Infrastructure Product Managers across multiple technology domains including: + Compute + Server + Hosting + Data Centre + Storage + Virtualisation + Network services (where relevant) * Validate current-state and future-state technology roadmaps. * Review technology life cycle plans, including End-of-Life, End-of-Support and contract renewal considerations. * Identify risks, dependencies, assumptions and gaps within existing roadmaps. * Refine strategic recommendations while respecting established client direction. * Help prioritise infrastructure initiatives based on business value, operational risk, commercial commitments and technical debt. * Translate complex technical discussions into concise executive-level outputs and recommendations. * Produce high-quality PowerPoint presentations suitable for CIO and Executive Committee audiences. * Ensure consistency across all infrastructure workstreams so recommendations form a coherent enterprise roadmap. * Facilitate workshops and one-to-one sessions with senior infrastructure stakeholders. * Build credibility quickly with client leadership while acting as an objective and trusted advisor. Desired Background: We're interested in experienced consultants or architects who have operated at enterprise level within complex organisations.
