## About the Role

Experteer Overview As a Cloud Services Backend Software Engineer on the Athena COP team, you will help deliver secure, scalable backend services in a fast-paced agile setting. You will architect and optimize the system, deploy dockerized workloads to AWS with Kubernetes, and contribute to a robust DevSecOps pipeline. Your work directly supports mission-critical space operations and national security objectives. This role offers hands-on impact, cross-functional collaboration, and opportunities to advance cloud-native capabilities in a secure environment. Compensation / Benefits * Solve complex technical problems within an agile development cycle and enhance system architecture and performance * Collaborate within an agile team and follow established development processes * Maintain and evolve the existing architecture and codebase * Deploy and manage containerized services in AWS using Kubernetes * Contribute to a secure CI/CD pipeline and ensure alignment with DevSecOps practices

 * Support mission-critical delivery and provide timely responses to changing priorities Tasks * Active TS/SCI with ability to obtain polygraph * 3+ years of relevant experience in government IT environment * Experience in full software development lifecycle in a team * Proficiency in Java and Python; shell scripting * Cloud management experience in AWS, Azure, or equivalent * Experience with Docker and Kubernetes * Familiarity with DevSecOps tools (gitlab, SonarQube, Trivy, Ansible, etc.) * Experience with Agile methodologies and CI/CM tools (GIT, JIRA, Confluence) * Strong troubleshooting and communication skills * Ability to multi-task and work independently in dynamic environment * Familiarity with microservice architectures and build tools (Gradle, Maven) Key requirements * flexible time off * robust learning resources * healthcare * wellness programs * retirement benefits * time off benefits
