Network certifications in Cisco (CCNA or CCNP) and Microsoft Windows Server preferred.

 * Ability to manage, direct, motivate, and build a cohesive network team;

 * Ability to evaluate staff performance, develop, and recommend training;

 * Demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively both vocally and in writing and to follow vocal and written instructions;

 * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, superiors, other departments, outside agencies, and vendors;

 * Ability and willingness to effectively work as part of a team and to demonstrate team skills to perform a fair share of team work responsibilities.

## Description

·Manages the network infrastructure including the Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN);

·Maintains all of the County's systems servers;

·Works with the cyber security team to maintain a secure network environment;

·Administers, maintains, and upgrades all of the County's servers;

·Maintains a secure network environment;

·Maintains all connectivity devices on the LAN and WAN, including hubs, switches, routers and cabling;

·Administers and maintains County's server infrastructure, storage area networks (SANs), backup systems, and data recovery;

·Maintains County's email servers, email archive systems, and web servers;

·Works with State agencies and other jurisdictions to connect to the County's network;

·Implements network policies, procedures, and standards;

·Identifies, analyzes, and purchases new equipment related to keeping the network, servers, and storage innovative;

·Helps develop the budget and capital expenditure plans for IT, and works with leadership to

·strategically plan multi-year budgets and hardware and software refreshes;

·Oversees contracts for network managed services and for professional services;

·Helps support video production of County meetings;

·Keeps abreast of developments in PC/Networking, cyber security, and general IT;

·Monitors and ensures help desk tickets are responded to on a timely basis including for staff they supervise;

·Performs capacity and resource planning, assessing network risks and contingency planning;

·Maintains County Disaster Recovery Plan and Continuity Plan, and coordinates plans with cyber security team;

Serves the needs of internal and external customers
