## About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Apigee Developer to design, develop, and manage enterprise-grade API platforms using Google Apigee. The role requires deep expertise in API design, security, and lifecycle management, with a strong focus on scalable, high-performance integrations.

A candidate with a strong Java/J2EE background and integration experience (microservices, middleware, ESB) will be highly preferred., * 8+ years of experience in software development and integration

 * 4+ years of hands-on experience with Apigee (Edge/X/Hybrid)

 * Strong expertise in:

o API development and lifecycle management

o RESTful APIs and API standards

o API security (OAuth, JWT, etc.)

 * Experience with API gateway policies, debugging, and analytics

 * Strong understanding of cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform preferred, AWS/Azure acceptable)

 * Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git, etc.)

 * Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Nice-to-Have / Preferred

 * Strong background in Java/J2EE (Spring Boot, Microservices)

 * Experience with integration technologies (ESB, middleware, Kafka, messaging systems)

 * Exposure to OpenShift/Kubernetes-based deployments

 * Experience in financial services or enterprise-scale platforms

 * Knowledge of API monetization and developer portals

Leadership Expectations

 * Drive API strategy and roadmap alignment with enterprise architecture

 * Mentor junior developers and guide best practices adoption

Act as a technical SME for API and integration architecture

## Description

* Lead the design, development, and implementation of API solutions using Apigee (Edge/X/Hybrid)

 * Define and enforce API design standards, governance, and best practices

 * Build and manage API proxies, shared flows, policies, and security frameworks

 * Implement robust API security (OAuth2, JWT, mTLS, rate limiting, threat protection)

 * Design and develop integration solutions across systems (cloud/on-prem)

 * Ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability of APIs

 * Work closely with architecture, product, and engineering teams to enable digital transformation initiatives
