* Master's degree in computer science with 5+ years of experience, of which at least 3 as a Team Lead
 * Proven track record of achieving results with teams
 * Experience setting performance goals and performing appraisals
 * Previous experience with low-level programming is an asset
 * Deep knowledge of Java is also a nice plus
 * A no-nonsense and pragmatic attitude, continuously raising the bar
 * Understanding the value of in-person leadership in a hybrid work environment

## Description

Guardsquare is looking for an R&D Team Lead to join us in our Leuven office and lead one of our Leuven based DexGuard (Java) teams.

In this role you will be responsible for a team of about 5 to 7 Java Software Engineers working within an agile software development environment.

Responsibilities

 * Own the results delivered by your team. You lead day-to-day development; assign tasks, track progress, ensure timely delivery and high quality.
 * Mentor engineers, foster collaboration, and motivate the team to reach company and personal objectives.
 * Set coding standards and best practices for maintainable solutions.
 * Work with product teams to translate business needs into technical specifications.
 * Implement and enforce testing practices to deliver reliable software.
 * Encourage new ideas and own engineering processes to drive continuous improvement.
 * Represent Guardsquare's R&D values, its products and its culture.

Qualifications
