* Strong commercial experience with Microsoft Azure and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), which is essential
 * Experience with Kubernetes platform engineering in production environments
 * Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
 * Experience with Docker, GitOps and CI/CD pipelines
 * Experience with Linux and Bash scripting
 * Experience with Grafana, Prometheus and OpenTelemetry
 * Experience with Kubernetes networking and service mesh technologies
 * Experience operating, troubleshooting and automating production platforms
 * Experience owning technical implementation decisions rather than simply delivering against architectural designs
 * Confidence working independently on complex engineering challenges
 * Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
 * Experience supporting, coaching or influencing engineering teams to adopt modern cloud engineering practices
 * A collaborative approach to working alongside architects while retaining ownership of technical delivery
 * Experience with Cilium, Istio, ArgoCD or Flux, Kafka or Redpanda, Helm and Kustomize, Python automation, or Policy as Code tools such as OPA/Gatekeeper or Kyverno is advantageous

## Description

* Build, operate and continually enhance Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
 * Take ownership of technical implementation decisions and platform engineering best practice
 * Design, build and manage Azure infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
 * Develop and maintain GitOps CI/CD pipelines
 * Manage Kubernetes networking, service mesh and gateway technologies
 * Improve platform observability using Grafana, Prometheus and OpenTelemetry
 * Maintain platform security, resilience and automation
 * Troubleshoot production platform issues and drive continuous improvement
 * Work closely with architects to turn high-level designs into robust technical solutions
 * Support and mentor engineering teams in adopting modern Azure and cloud-native engineering practices
