The Data Platform team builds and operates the systems that centralize all of Coinbase's internal and third-party data, making it easy for teams across the company to access, process, and transform that data for analytics, machine learning, and powering end-user experiences. As an engineer on the team you'll contribute across the full spectrum of our systems, from foundational processing and storage to scalable pipelines to the frameworks, tools, and internal applications that make data easily and efficiently available. We have a number of open roles within the Data Platform team, each with a different focus area; read on to see if you'll be a good fit as a Data Engineering Platform Engineer. This role sits between our platform and the analysts, data scientists, and data engineers who use it every day. You'll build the SDKs, self-service apps, and abstractions that let thousands of pipelines and analyses run without those users needing to understand the plumbing underneath. What you'll do: * Own the design and delivery of blockchain network infrastructure that abstracts blockchain complexity into reliable, platform APIs * Lead multi-quarter initiatives including new chain integrations, re-architecture efforts, and data migrations that improve system latency, reliability, and cost * Define and maintain APIs, SLOs, and observability for the systems you build, including on-call ownership * Partner with product and platform teams to establish data contracts and ship SDKs and platform primitives that drive adoption across Coinbase * Build deep technical context across multiple top blockchain protocols (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum) and apply that knowledge to simplify cross-chain operations ## Related Videos - [Inside Bitpanda's Tech Stack: Scaling a European Fintech Leader - Markus Dorner](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1979-inside-bitpanda-s-tech-stack-scaling-a-european-fintech-leader-markus-dorner) - [Go with the Flow: Stop the Leaks Before Your Memory's a Waterfall!](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100073-go-with-the-flow-stop-the-leaks-before-your-memory-s-a-waterfall) - [Reducing LLM Calls with Vector Search Patterns - Raphael De Lio (Redis)](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1714-reducing-llm-calls-with-vector-search-patterns-raphael-de-lio-redis) - [OP_PUSH_TX and its applications in Bitcoin smart contracts](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/146-op_push_tx-and-its-applications-in-bitcoin-smart-contracts) - [Throwing off the burdens of scale in engineering](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/608-throwing-off-the-burdens-of-scale-in-engineering) - [Scoring 2000 Products per Request: Performance Pitfalls in Golang](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/2073-scoring-2000-products-per-request-performance-pitfalls-in-golang) ## Related Articles - [The Best X (Twitter) Accounts for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/294-the-best-x-twitter-accounts-for-developers) - [Highest Paying Tech Companies for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/220-highest-paying-tech-companies-for-developers) - [7 tips on how to become a blockchain developer](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/53-7-tips-on-how-to-become-a-blockchain-developer) - [Cryptocurrencies For Blockchain Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/5-cryptocurrencies-for-blockchain-developers) - [From Hype to Code: Real Blockchain Use Cases for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/620-from-hype-to-code-real-blockchain-use-cases-for-developers) - [How We Built a Worry-Free System That Runs for 10+ Years – And What We’d Do Again](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/751-how-we-built-a-worry-free-system-that-runs-for-10-years-and-what-we-d-do-again)
