## About the Role

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience developing complex, multi-tier applications, collaborating with business stakeholders, analyzing requirements, and delivering scalable technical solutions throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This position also participates in an on-call support rotation to ensure the continued reliability of critical systems., * 10+ years of experience developing enterprise applications using Natural/Adabas.

 * Strong experience with SQL development.
 * Experience with SCL in a Linux environment.
 * Advanced experience designing, implementing, and enhancing large-scale Natural applications.
 * Experience gathering and documenting business requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.
 * Ability to recommend technical solutions and drive issue resolution.
 * Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
 * 7+ years of hands-on experience supporting State Department of Human Services (DHS) systems.
 * Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills., Experience with the following is highly desirable:
 * Microsoft SQL Server
 * Unix/Linux operating systems
 * Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, XP)
 * Experience working within government or public sector environments
 * Additional Linux administration experience

## Description

The Mississippi Department of Human Services (MDHS) is seeking an experienced Programming Analyst/Application Developer to support the EBT/EFITS team. This role is responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining mission-critical enterprise applications built on Natural/Adabas technologies., * Design, develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise applications using Natural/Adabas.

 * Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
 * Collaborate with business users and stakeholders to identify system enhancements and process improvements.
 * Develop and maintain SQL queries and database objects to support application functionality.
 * Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including:
 + Requirements Analysis
 + System Design
 + Development
 + Quality Assurance & Testing
 + Implementation
 + Production Support & Maintenance
 * Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolution.
 * Participate in the team''s rotating on-call support schedule.
 * Contribute to continuous process improvement and technical best practices.
