## About the Role

* Strong hands-on background with Google Cloud Platform
 * Experience administering Google Kubernetes Engine environments
 * Solid knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration
 * Experience supporting Docker Swarm
 * Strong Linux administration experience
 * Experience creating and supporting CI/CD workflows
 * Familiarity with GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or comparable deployment tools
 * Understanding of cloud infrastructure security and networking concepts
 * Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities

Desired Skills & Experience

 * Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or comparable professional experience
 * Hands-on experience with Terraform and Ansible
 * Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code practices
 * Experience automating tasks with Python
 * Experience working with RESTful APIs
 * Exposure to OpenShift and OpenShift Container Storage
 * Experience administering PostgreSQL environments
 * Experience supporting Elasticsearch
 * Ability to work effectively both independently and with cross-functional teams

## Description

A major financial institution in Plano, Texas is seeking a Google Cloud Platform DevOps Engineer to help modernize, automate, and support its cloud infrastructure. This role will focus on building resilient cloud environments for high-priority applications using Google Cloud Platform, GKE, container platforms, and Linux-based systems.

The engineer will be responsible for supporting cloud deployments, improving infrastructure automation, managing CI/CD processes, and maintaining stable production environments. You'll partner with software engineering, QA, and operations teams to streamline releases, strengthen reliability, and improve the overall performance of cloud-based applications., * Build, deploy, and maintain cloud workloads on Google Cloud Platform and GKE

 * Operate and support Kubernetes and Docker Swarm platforms
 * Manage and harden Linux servers across multiple environments
 * Develop and improve CI/CD automation for application releases
 * Provision and configure infrastructure using automation tools
 * Write Python automation scripts and integrate internal and external APIs
 * Partner with engineering, QA, and operations teams throughout the deployment lifecycle
 * Diagnose infrastructure, application, and performance issues
 * Maintain and troubleshoot PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch systems
 * Improve platform uptime, scalability, and deployment consistency
 * Maintain technical documentation covering architecture, standards, and operating procedures
