Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized and Other Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) reporting or correcting security violations; (2) reviewing risk analysis, accreditation, or certification packages for accordance with agency requirements; (3) evaluating existing or proposed cyber security procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11) The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Decision Making - Makes sound, well-informed, and objective decisions; perceives the impact and implications of decisions; commits to action, even in uncertain situations, to accomplish organizational goals; causes change. Information Management - Identifies a need for and knows where or how to gather information; organizes and maintains information or information management systems. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone - no substitution of education for experience is permitted. ## Description * Serve as technical expert, source of expertise, and focal point concerning IT security/information assurance and IT policy and planning, programs, initiatives and certification and accreditation. * Administer and monitor implementation of the Risk Management Framework (RMF). * Review risk assessments and analyze impact of potential vulnerabilities * Maintain data base of system accreditation status, develops reports, and alerts system proponents when accreditation documentation must be updated. * Implement and administer elements of the Army's Cyber Security Program. * Develop and manage the organization's program that implements information systems security technology and procedures, to include access control and authentication of users and transmitted information. * Make IT recommendations and establishes timelines for corrective action. Requirements Conditions of employment * Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. * This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. * Incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification/recertification for this position as outlined in DoD Manual 8140.03, Cybersecurity Workforce Qualification Program, dated 24 July 2023 * This is a MISSION ESSENTIAL (Key) position. May require expanded work hours, 7-day workweek, and extended duty days under crisis operations. * This position has been designated "Mission Essential".
