## About the Role

+ Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, materials engineering, or welding engineering.
 + 2 years of manufacturing, fabrication, assembly or testing experience (internship experience can supplement for the required industry experience).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 + Master of Science in degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, materials engineering, or welding engineering.
 + Experience with spacecraft or aircraft structural assemblies.
 + Process development, facility and line layouts, PFMEA, Error-Proofing.
 + Experience with NX and Teamcenter CAD and PDM systems.
 + Knowledge of a variety of manufacturing techniques, processes, equipment, and other processes such as: machining, welding, drilling, sheet metal forming, and stamping.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

 + Must be available to work long hours and weekends as needed.

## Description

BUILD ENGINEER (FALCON 9)
The Build Engineer owns the relationship between our development and production teams for our Falcon 9 rocket. You will provide input into the design and development of new and existing hardware and take a lead role in manufacturing and integration on our current and next generation launch vehicles.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

 + Lead the production, assembly, and integration of Falcon structural assemblies.
 + Develop production procedures/processes and manage the transition of parts and assemblies from development to high flow rate production.
 + Implement process improvements to reduce assembly hours and build cost.
 + Execute design for manufacturability changes to enhance production efficiency.
 + Create and maintain build schedules that list all discrete fabrication and assembly tasks.
 + Resolve and analyze manufacturing discrepancies, while interfacing with the quality team (resolving issues for design, fabrication and assembly).
