You'll ideally have progressed from a strong infrastructure or cloud engineering background into architecture while remaining close to the technology. We'd particularly like to hear from people with experience across several of the following: * Microsoft Azure * Microsoft 365 * Azure Landing Zones / CAF * Terraform / Infrastructure as Code * Azure DevOps * Entra ID and hybrid identity * Intune * Azure networking and security * Microsoft 365 migrations * Tenant-to-tenant migrations * Cloud migration and modernisation * HLDs and LLDs * Working closely with engineers through implementation Experience of FinOps, Azure Cost Management, Power Platform, Dynamics 365, Copilot/AI governance or working across multiple companies or acquired businesses would be useful, but we're not expecting one person to be an expert in everything. What matters most is that you're technically strong across Azure and Microsoft 365, comfortable operating at architecture level and still enjoy getting involved in how solutions are actually delivered. ## Description If you're an experienced Microsoft Infrastructure Engineer or Architect who still enjoys being technically hands-on, this could be a particularly interesting opportunity. We're looking for someone with strong experience across both Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 who can operate at architecture level but doesn't want to move away from engineering and delivery. You'll be joining a highly respected international organisation with a complex Microsoft estate and an ongoing programme of cloud transformation, modernisation and company acquisitions. This isn't a role where you'll simply produce architecture and hand it over to somebody else. You'll work closely with engineering teams from initial design through to implementation - helping solve technical problems, guiding deployments and ensuring solutions work in practice. What you'll be doing The role will give you exposure to a wide range of Microsoft infrastructure projects, including: * Designing and delivering Azure infrastructure and hybrid cloud solutions * Designing and evolving Azure Landing Zones using Cloud Adoption Framework principles * Working across the Microsoft 365 estate, including Entra ID, identity, Intune and associated infrastructure services * Planning and leading Microsoft 365 migrations and tenant consolidation * Supporting the integration of newly acquired businesses into the wider Microsoft environment * Designing solutions and producing practical HLDs and LLDs * Working closely with engineers throughout implementation and deployment * Using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code to standardise Azure deployments * Working with Azure DevOps and deployment pipelines * Supporting Azure migration, modernisation and infrastructure transformation programmes * Developing secure identity, networking and cloud governance solutions * Helping optimise Azure environments from both a technical and cost perspective You'll also have the opportunity to evaluate and introduce emerging Microsoft technologies including Copilot, AI Foundry and Microsoft Fabric. ## Related Videos - [Infrastructure as Prompts: Creating Azure Infrastructure with AI Agents](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1533-infrastructure-as-prompts-creating-azure-infrastructure-with-ai-agents) - [Infrastructure as Code: The Developer's Secret Weapon](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1221-infrastructure-as-code-the-developer-s-secret-weapon) - [Developer Tools for Microsoft Azure](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/450-developer-tools-for-microsoft-azure) - [Develop enterprise-ready applications for Microsoft Teams with Azure resources on modern web technologies](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/187-develop-enterprise-ready-applications-for-microsoft-teams-with-azure-resources-on-modern-web-technologies) - [Reference Architecture of AI in the Cloud](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1613-reference-architecture-of-ai-in-the-cloud) - [Terraform for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/3-terraform-for-developers) ## Related Articles - [What Are The Top Skills Required For Azure Developers?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/77-what-are-the-top-skills-required-for-azure-developers) - [7 Cloud Computing Trends Coming in 2025 for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/412-7-cloud-computing-trends-coming-in-2025-for-developers) - [The Most Popular IT Jobs on the Market](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/376-the-most-popular-it-jobs-on-the-market) - [Why Upskilling And Reskilling is Important For Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/428-why-upskilling-and-reskilling-is-important-for-developers) - [6 Emerging Technologies We’ll Learn About in 2025](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/381-6-emerging-technologies-we-ll-learn-about-in-2025) - [The 12 Best Jobs for Software Engineers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/401-the-12-best-jobs-for-software-engineers)
