You will be in charge of the architecture design, implementation, and continuous improvement of highly reliable, fault-tolerant embedded solutions. This role requires an engineering leader who can prioritize tasks effectively, work with agility and take full ownership of firmware and software development. Your key responsibilities will include: * End-to-End embedded lifecycle ownership: lead the design, development, testing and maintenance of embedded software for our ATHENA propulsion system, from bare-metal to real-time application and EGSE software. * Team leadership and scaling: lead, mentor and grow a small team of embedded software engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and agility. * Mission assurance: define software verification strategies, including Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing and automated CI/CD pipelines, to guarantee flight readiness. * Architecture design and migration: define and structure firmware and software components to create a modular, scalable, and maintainable system, and lead the migration from legacy resource-constrained (8-bit microcontroller) bare-metal software to a modern 32-bit RTOS embedded architecture. * Technical feasibility assessment: evaluate design concepts and propose robust technical solutions. * System integration: work closely with the hardware team to ensure seamless integration of embedded software into our propulsion systems and laboratory equipment. * Technical reviews and documentation: participate in design and milestone reviews, ensuring the highest quality and alignment with project goals., * Culture and values interview: a chat with our People team to ensure we share the same mindset and values. * Technical interview: meet the Tech Lead and showcase your technical skills. * Sometimes the hiring process will require a technical exercise to assess how you could apply logic and structure to different scenarios. * Final interview with Founders: align expectations and discuss your potential impact at IENAI SPACE. ## Related Videos - [How a Small Team Shrank a Microsoft Monorepo by 94%](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1236-how-a-small-team-shrank-a-microsoft-monorepo-by-94) - [Playing Pong on a shoulder press machine](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100140-playing-pong-on-a-shoulder-press-machine) - [Agile work at CARIAD – Creating a customer web application for controlling the vehicle ](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/200-agile-work-at-cariad-creating-a-customer-web-application-for-controlling-the-vehicle) - [Git for Code Reviews](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/429-git-for-code-reviews) - [What I learned as a developer from accidents in space](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/642-what-i-learned-as-a-developer-from-accidents-in-space) - [Agent Smith Gets Hardware: Autonomous IoT Hacking From Debug Port to Cloud API](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100258-agent-smith-gets-hardware-autonomous-iot-hacking-from-debug-port-to-cloud-api) ## Related Articles - [Dev Digest 121 - AI goes offline](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/456-dev-digest-121-ai-goes-offline) - [Dev Digest 120 - Apple and peers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/455-dev-digest-120-apple-and-peers) - [Fully Remote Software Engineer Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/447-fully-remote-software-engineer-jobs) - [Dev Digest 138 - Are you secure about this?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/486-dev-digest-138-are-you-secure-about-this) - [Is Software Engineering Over-Saturated?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/418-is-software-engineering-over-saturated) - [Where To Find Software Engineering Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/396-where-to-find-software-engineering-jobs)
