## About the Role

* Educational background in biology or a related field (hold a higher training cycle or higher degree).
 * Experience in molecular biology procedures such as PCR, RT-qPCR, and DNA/RNA purification procedures.
 * Excellent organizational, management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
 * Ability to teamwork in a dynamic environment and to handle varying workloads.
 * Responsible, proactive, self-motivated, and able to work with a high degree of autonomy.
 * Client and collaborators-oriented attitude and strong problem-solving skills.
 * Good level of writing and speaking English.
 * Experience in MS Office Suite.

Desirable but not required

 * Experience in preparation of sequencing libraries for next generation sequencing.
 * Experience in validation of NGS or array results by pyrosequencing.
 * Experience in the use of databases and genomic tools., As this is a training contract, applicants must have obtained their most recent academic qualification within the last three years.

## Description

* Support for internal and external projects developed in the Unit.
 * DNA isolation from a range of sample types (primary cells, cell lines, frozen and paraffin-embedded tissues).
 * Nucleic acid quantification and quality control assessment using fluorometry and electrophoresis analysis.
 * Sample processing for array-based applications such as DNA Methylation analysis and SNP Genotyping (Illumina Infinium Assay).
 * Use of Illumina MiSeq-DX and MiSeqi100Plus instruments for Next Generation Sequencing protocols.
 * Keeping audit trails of the work performed, writing, and keeping up-to-date documentation such as Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs).
 * Sample reception and logging.
 * Laboratory stock and orders management.
 * Reporting to the Unit Manager.
