## About the Role

* Degree in Electrical, Electronic or Mechatronics Engineering (HND applicants with relevant industry experience will also be considered).
 * Previous experience in hardware or electronics design.
 * Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
 * A good understanding of embedded systems.
 * Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
 * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
 * Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Desirable experience

 * Schematic capture using Altium or similar ECAD software.
 * PCB design, including multilayer boards.
 * EMC design principles.
 * FPGA development.
 * Command Line Interface (CLI) experience.
 * Firmware knowledge including RTOS or Linux.
 * Python programming.

## Description

* Troubleshooting complex electro-mechanical products and identifying robust engineering solutions.
 * Designing and implementing hardware improvements and product updates.
 * Working closely with hardware, software and firmware engineers to ensure seamless product integration.
 * Managing small engineering projects to deliver customer requirements.
 * Supporting manufacturing by improving product yield through the design of test procedures and test fixtures.
 * Redesigning PCB assemblies to address component obsolescence and supply chain shortages.
 * Participating in hardware design reviews and ensuring engineering standards are maintained.
 * Providing technical support across the wider engineering function as required.
