Appointments are normally made within 4 to 8 weeks of the closing date. ## Description Join us in Natural Resources Wales (NRW) as a Technical Support Officer, where you will support the delivery of agricultural projects and activities aimed at reducing agricultural pollution across the sector. Working closely with the COAPR team on a multi-place basis, you will provide technical support to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and help prevent and minimise pollution and environmental damage. You will play an active role in supporting field officers in the execution of their duties, helping to ensure that regulatory activity is effective, consistent, and proportionate. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to environmental protection efforts, working both collaboratively within a team and independently as required. As an organisation we support flexible working. You will be contracted to the nearest NRW office to your home and a suitable hybrid working pattern will be agreed on appointment. About us Agricultural pollution remains a significant challenge in Wales, contributing to serious environmental impacts including declining water quality and damaging fish kills. In response, the Welsh Government introduced the Control of Agricultural Pollution Regulations in 2021, with the aim of reducing pollution from agricultural activities and protecting the water environment. Natural Resources Wales (NRW) is responsible for delivering a programme of farm inspections across Wales to assess compliance with these regulations. This work plays a vital role in preventing agricultural pollution, safeguarding natural resources, and supporting sustainable land management practices for the benefit of current and future generations. What you will do * Managing critical business systems for the teams. * Managing document storage requirements to ensure compliance with current legislation. * Establishing and maintaining systems to track compliance and enforcement performance and ensuring issues are highlighted to the relevant Team Leaders. * Managing all data access requests received and responding within agreed timescales. * Supporting our response to complaints received. * Support and work closely with other team members to deliver work objectives in a timely and efficient manner in line with the annual workplan. * Maintain databases for recording visit information and enforcement outcomes. * Undertake health and safety duties and responsibilities appropriate to the post * Be committed to Natural Resources Wales Equal Opportunities and Diversity Policy , together with an understanding of how it operates within the responsibilities of the post * Be committed to your own development through the effective use of your personal development plan (known as Sgwrs). * Required to take part in incident response activities. * Any other reasonable duties requested commensurate with the grade of this role., Please note if you do not meet the A1 requirement i.e., ability to understand basic phrases and ability to pronounce Welsh names correctly, then NRW offers a variety of learning options and staff support to help you meet these minimal requirements during the course of your employment with us., Natural Resources Wales is unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position.
