## About the Role

* Knowledge of testing UI, APIs and event driven architectures.
 * Knowledge of building observability testing into a QA strategy.
 * knowledge of integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines to support trunk-based development.
 * Experience of build processes and practices, and coaching quality engineers to adopt best practice,
 * Good understanding of AWS technologies (including Lambda (for Java integration), API Gateway, S3, CloudWatch, and IAM.)
 * Proven ability to work in an Agile / Scrumenvironment.
 * Experience with CI/CD and trunk-based development.
 * Passion for continuous learning and enabling others.
 * Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable Skills

 * Containerization & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, EKS.
 * Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Cloud Formation.
 * Service Mesh: Exposure to Istio.
 * Advanced testing tools: Pact, Rest-Assured, Mockito, Localstack.
 * Observability: Distributed tracing and monitoring in microservices.

## Description

Join our innovative team and help us lead quality initiatives that empower developers and improve testing practices across workstreams.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

 * Act as a technical expert in automated testing for Java microservices.
 * You'll be working with 5 teams across multiple domain areas.
 * The primary duties around this role are to coach & mentor quality engineers, and define and drive best practice and processes.
 * Drive a microservices testing strategy: Unit, component, contract, and simple, maintainable end-to-end tests.
 * Encourage developers to run containerized services locally to avoid integration issues and keep pipelines clean in a trunk-based development environment.
 * Design and validate integration tests between Java services and AWS Lambda functions.
 * Work in Agile / Scrum, be able to lead in refinement sessions, improving user stories and acceptance criteria, and promoting BDD practices (3 Amigos, Gherkin/Cucumber).
 * Collaborate across teams to ensure consistent quality practices and continuous improvement in frameworks and pipelines.
 * Leading the quality space across multiple teams in a 'service family'.
