As our new Full Stack Engineer, you'll initially join our internal product incubator squad, focused on exploring and developing new product opportunities for the business. The team moves quickly and values ownership, autonomy and action, making it well suited to engineers who are comfortable working through ambiguity, testing ideas quickly and learning through iteration. This isn't a role where you'll spend months delivering pre-defined tickets. You'll work alongside Product and Design from the earliest stages of discovery, helping shape ideas, challenge assumptions and build products that reach customers quickly. We believe our best engineers don't just write code - they influence product direction, improve how we work, and solve meaningful customer problems. At Cuvva, people come from a wide range of backgrounds and bring different but complementary skill sets. Within Engineering, you're not required to have a university degree; many of us are self-taught. Our Tech Stack: * Frontend: JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Redux (with Redux-Sagas) * Backend: Golang & NodeJS , with PostgreSQL and MongoDB * Architecture: Microservices, APIs, and serverless services Infrastructure & tooling: AWS, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Redis, CI/CD pipelines * Practices: Automation-first, metrics-driven, incident write-ups and observability baked in Our 2026 Engineering Strategy: We're not just here to write code, we're here to redefine how insurance works. Our 2026 engineering strategy is built on five principles: 1. AI-first: We're investing in automation and building AI-powered features to serve customers better and faster 2. Proactive mindset: We take initiative, spot problems early, and act fast 3. Data-driven decisions: Hypotheses are tested. Gut feel isn't good enough 4. Pareto principle: Get 80% of the value with 20% of the effort - polish only when it matters 5. Testing-first mindset: Stability matters. We test, we ship, we learn About the role: As a Full Stack Engineer (Backend leaning), you'll help shape the next generation of Cuvva's products, taking ideas from early experiments through to production and putting them in the hands of more than 1.5 million drivers. You'll help bridge the gap between disciplines, collaborating with backend, web, product and design to deliver seamless, user-centric solutions. You won't just ship code, you'll have the autonomy to challenge ideas, influence technical decisions and help shape the future of our products from discovery through to production. Whether that's building new features, new services, building out internal dashboards, expanding our design systems, or optimising developer experience. You'll move between product delivery and platform improvement, bringing a positive, proactive and collaborative mindset to the team. On a day-to-day basis you'll: * Write clean, maintainable, scalable, and well-tested code across Frontend and Backend (React, Go, Node etc.). * Collaborate closely with Designers, PMs, and fellow Engineers to scope, design and deliver features end-to-end. * Build and maintain services, APIs and internal dashboards that improve both customer experience and internal operations. * Support infrastructure changes, deployment pipelines, and automation initiatives. * Contribute to design systems and ensure pixel-perfect implementation on the frontend. * Proactively identify and solve both functional and technical problems in the product. * Share knowledge across teams, helping to raise the bar for the full stack discipline at Cuvva. * Participate in standups, retros, and team ceremonies, keeping work visible and moving smoothly. * Support onboarding, mentor teammates where appropriate and contribute to improving our engineering practices. ## Related Videos - [Build and Deploy a Fullstack App with Open Source Tooling](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/775-build-and-deploy-a-fullstack-app-with-open-source-tooling) - [Reducing LLM Calls with Vector Search Patterns - Raphael De Lio (Redis)](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1714-reducing-llm-calls-with-vector-search-patterns-raphael-de-lio-redis) - [Go with the Flow: Stop the Leaks Before Your Memory's a Waterfall!](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100073-go-with-the-flow-stop-the-leaks-before-your-memory-s-a-waterfall) - [Docker Compose: Rediscovered](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1978-docker-compose-rediscovered) - [Retooling and refactoring - an investment in people.](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/371-retooling-and-refactoring-an-investment-in-people) - [Navigating the Corporate Jungle: Life as a Developer in a large Company](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/621-navigating-the-corporate-jungle-life-as-a-developer-in-a-large-company) ## Related Articles - [Fully Remote Software Engineer Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/447-fully-remote-software-engineer-jobs) - [Fullstack Developer Salary UK](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/251-fullstack-developer-salary-uk) - [Find a Developer Job: 12 Best Job Sites For Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/165-find-a-developer-job-12-best-job-sites-for-developers) - [7 Most Popular Web Developer Jobs in Europe](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/163-7-most-popular-web-developer-jobs-in-europe) - [Why Upskilling And Reskilling is Important For Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/428-why-upskilling-and-reskilling-is-important-for-developers) - [Where to Find Entry-Level Software Engineering Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/397-where-to-find-entry-level-software-engineering-jobs)
