THE ROLE, SENIOR BACKEND ENGINEER As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will design, build and own core backend services in Java and Kotlin, working on real time, high traffic systems where performance and reliability genuinely matter. This is a hands-on role in an international team, building and owning your own work rather than maintaining someone else's legacy. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Design and build core backend services in Java and Kotlin Work on real time, high traffic, distributed systems Design scalable API access patterns and integrations between distributed services Work with SQL and NoSQL data storage to meet data requirements Test, monitor and debug your own code to a high standard Collaborate with an international team to deliver robust, scalable solutions ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE - Around 4 to 7 years in backend software development within a team environment - Strong JVM experience, Java with Kotlin, commercial or
