You should be comfortable navigating both strategic conversations and technical depth.\n, * 5+ years of experience in architecture, consulting, solution strategy, or digital transformation roles.\n * Requirement Translation: Proven ability to document requirements in the form of Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Solution Architecture Documents (SADs) or Statements of Work (SOWs) that define clear project scopes, constraints, and non-functional requirements.\n * Data Fabric & Mesh Architecture: Proven experience designing distributed data architecture that moves away from monolithic silos. Ability to define metadata, lineage, semantics, and domain federation.\n * Integration Proficiency: understanding of API-first design and event-driven architectures to support grid data streaming.\n * Logical Data Modeling & Domain Modeling: Ability to design data models that prioritize business usability over rigid database structure. Expertise in translating complex physical grid entities (Assets, Connectivity Nodes, Measurements) into intuitive, domain-driven data structures that are easy for business users and analytics teams to consume.\n * Cloud & Deployment Architecture: Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration (Kubernetes) sufficient to advise on solution deployment models. Our products, including GridOS Data Fabric, can be deployed in the cloud or on premises in Kubernetes clusters, so familiarity with hybrid deployment patterns and infrastructure considerations is important.\n * SQL & Database Knowledge: Ability to understand and write performant SQL queries, common table expressions (CTEs), and dynamic SQL.\n * Broad knowledge of enterprise architecture across Business, Data, Application, and Technology (BDAT) domains, grounded in recognized frameworks such as TOGAF or equivalent. Ability to apply EA principles to structure complex transformation programs and guide technology decisions.\n * Strong familiarity with utility environments and mission-critical solutions such as Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS), Advanced Energy Management Systems/Energy Management Systems (AEMS/EMS), Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems (DERMS), or comparable platforms\n * Clear, confident communication and presentation skills - with an ability to connect business outcomes to technology strategy\n, * Experience supporting IT/OT (Operational Technology) integration or transformation initiatives.\n * Background in strategic consulting or enterprise deal shaping.\n * DataOps & Version Control Awareness: Understanding of DataOps principles, including Git-based version control for analytical code and configuration, CI/CD for data pipelines, and reproducible data workflows.\n * Scripting & Automation Literacy: Familiarity with modern scripting languages (e.g., Python) for data pipeline automation, API integration, and data profiling, sufficient to evaluate technical approaches and guide implementation teams.\n * Data Catalog & Governance Tooling: Experience with metadata management platforms (e.g., DataHub) and the ability to design metadata capture, classification, and governance strategies at enterprise scale.\n * Data Visualization & Self-Service Enablement: Experience designing intuitive dashboards and self-service reporting environments (e.g., Apache Superset, Power BI) that transform complex grid datasets into actionable insights for business users.\n * AI/Analytics Readiness: Ability to design data environments that make data "AI-ready" (curated, governed, and accessible for ML/AI use cases).\n, A formal education and subsequent bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field is nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.\n ## Related Videos - [How a Small Team Shrank a Microsoft Monorepo by 94%](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1236-how-a-small-team-shrank-a-microsoft-monorepo-by-94) - [From Messy Queries to Scalable Systems - How Data Engineering actually works](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100203-from-messy-queries-to-scalable-systems-how-data-engineering-actually-works) - [Git for Code Reviews](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/429-git-for-code-reviews) - [Modern Data Architectures need Software Engineering](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1030-modern-data-architectures-need-software-engineering) - [Blueprints for Success: Steering a Global Data & AI Architecture](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1577-blueprints-for-success-steering-a-global-data-ai-architecture) - [Stop Committing Your Secrets - GIt Hooks To The Rescue!](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/573-stop-committing-your-secrets-git-hooks-to-the-rescue) ## Related Articles - [Graph and AI Trends 2026: Why Is AI Running but Not Yet Delivering?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/680-graph-and-ai-trends-2026-why-is-ai-running-but-not-yet-delivering) - [What Are The Top Skills Required For Azure Developers?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/77-what-are-the-top-skills-required-for-azure-developers) - [A Guide to Green Tech and Green IT Careers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/374-a-guide-to-green-tech-and-green-it-careers) - [The Most Popular IT Jobs on the Market](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/376-the-most-popular-it-jobs-on-the-market) - [Data Engineer Salary UK](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/253-data-engineer-salary-uk) - [Why Event-Driven Architecture Isn’t About Speed (and When You Actually Need It)](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/745-why-event-driven-architecture-isn-t-about-speed-and-when-you-actually-need-it)
