Agent guide: [/agents.md](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/agents.md). --- # Portfolio Product Owner - **Company:** Nexor - **Location:** Nottingham, UK - **Contract:** Permanent contract - **Skills:** Agile Methodology, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Microsoft SharePoint - **Published:** August 13, 2026 - **Apply:** https://www.nexor.com/about/careers/portfolio-product-owner ## About the Role * Experience as a Product Owner and ideally experience with secure information exchange and cloud technologies. * It is essential to have knowledge of the type of solutions and services within the portfolio or a background in IT/Information Assurance, or the ability to develop that knowledge quickly. * Ideally has worked within the Defence, Government or National Security markets, or has the ability to develop that knowledge quickly. * Good interpersonal skills to develop productive relationships both internally and externally. * Good presentation and communication skills for business/technology and senior leader/engineer audiences, both internally and externally with customers. * Has or is able to be SC cleared. ## Description The Portfolio Product Owner is responsible for: * Turning high-level portfolio requirements into detailed requirements and goals that can be acted upon by engineering. * Management and clear communication of the Product Backlog. * Planning and delivering timely releases/product updates. * Owning and coordinating all aspects of the release process including product, product documentation, implementation/deployment etc., plus providing updates to any marketing documentation to the Portfolio Manager. * Monitoring and acting upon any technical updates from third parties. * Maintaining the relevant bill of materials for each part of the portfolio. * Working with customers to develop a customer-specific backlog if required., * Act as a Hybrid Product Owner for Agile team(s) and Requirements Manager for non-Agile teams: + Manage the product goals and backlogs for all relevant products. + Develop and explicitly communicate the Product Goals. + Create, clearly communicate and manage Product Backlog items. + Order/prioritise Product Backlog items. + Agree Sprint goal(s) or Requirement goals with the team(s). + Ensure that Product Backlog progress is transparent, visible and understood by the team(s) and Portfolio, including timescales, financial budgets and actual spend. + Support the team(s) with their product-related queries. + Attend Sprint and Project Reviews and report on progress made during the Sprint to Portfolio and customers where applicable. * Manage the product release process including setting release requirements, planning all elements of a release into the backlog, such as documentation, through to accepting that a release has been completed and communicating to the rest of the business. * Produce, agree and communicate quarterly product delivery updates and updated plans and costs. + Support the Portfolio Manager to create a coherent Portfolio view based on current and forecast development plans. * Working with the Portfolio Manager, manage the product lifecycle for each of our products in line with product plans and dovetailing into Nexor's services portfolio, with services driving product updates and vice versa. * Manage the product lifecycle at a component level, monitoring our supply chain for any component updates or end-of-life notices, in order to maintain a current bill of materials. * Champion the product alongside the Portfolio Manager: + Contribute to clear, engaging product collateral in order to update the market on latest developments, use cases, etc. + From time to time, author collateral pieces helping to advocate one or more products. + Maintain product area for each product on the Portfolio Hub on SharePoint. + Present the product with benefits and use cases to customers, and gather and apply their feedback. + Help gather product feedback from customers, prospects and Nexor's customer-facing teams to help prioritisation of the backlog to maximise return on Nexor investment, whilst maintaining alignment with the Portfolio Roadmap. + Explore, share and apply market learning from customers, authorities, competitors, partners and suppliers as part of the marketing community at Nexor. * Facilitate the estimating process with engineering as this can impact the delivery of the backlog.
