## About the Role

* Bachelor's degree in technical discipline with 14+ years of relevant experience as a Systems Engineer OR 19 years of Systems Engineering experience with no degree.
 * IAM II certification (DoD 8140 required upon start of employment. Acceptable certifications include
CCNA-Security/CySA+/GICSP/GSEC/Security+ CE/CND/SSCP)

 * Red Hat versions 8 and 9
 * Experience with Grafana
 * Python development language
 * Experience with Naemon
 * Familiarity with Pagent and Putty, * MachineShop experience
 * Hypervisor virtual machine experience
 * Understanding of Return-to-Service (RTS) protocols

Clearance Requirements:

 * Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph

Physical Requirements:

 * Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
 * Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
 * Frequently communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, including delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations

## Description

You will play a critical role in supporting the enterprise infrastructure capabilities for a global, mission-focused workforce. This position supports the high-visibility Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) organization, responsible for the delivery and security of MPO's Enterprise Information Technology (EIT), the foundation for enterprise-wide services. As a Systems Engineer, you will work alongside customers, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and vendors to support the implementation and compliance of advanced EIT capabilities through Data Center & Computer Services., * OpenStack Utility Cloud: Design, deploy, and maintain multi-tenant enterprise OpenStack platforms

 * Architect High Availability topologies to eliminate single points of failure
 * Write and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Ansible and Puppet
 * Automation scripts and tools in Python and Bash
 * Database support using MySQL
 * Engineer and harden enterprise Linux systems; enforce identity and access management (IAM) frameworks grounded in least-privilege principles.
 * Utilize Naemon and diagnostic tooling to execute systemic performance analysis and proactively address health degraded states.
 * Executing Return-to-Service (RTS) protocols to minimize downtime during critical incidents.
