Essential * Strong software engineering experience with proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as Python, Java,C++or similar. * Confidence working across different languages, tools and technology stacks, with the ability to learn what is needed to solve the problem. * A solid understanding of software engineering principles, including architecture, testing, code review and maintainable system design. * Experience designing and developing reliable software systems, applications or developer-facing tools. * Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and engineering workflows using tools such as GitHub Actions or GitLab CI . * Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to balance technical excellence and pragmatic delivery. * A willingness to get stuck into unfamiliar problems, ask good questions and learn quickly. * Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with experience working in cross-functional engineering teams. * A growth mindset and enthusiasm for learning new technologies and solving challenging engineering problems. Desirable * Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration technologies. * Experience with at least one cloud platform such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud. * Familiarity with AI or machine learning technologies, or software systems that support AI and ML workflows. * Experience building developer platforms, internal tooling or large-scale data platforms. * Knowledge of observability, monitoring and performance optimisation for distributed systems. ## Description At Five AI, we're building platforms, simulation environments and AI tooling that power the next generation of intelligent systems.
