Preferred / Nice to Have: * Experience across Chromium layers such as content, browser, core, compositor, skia, and networking (or equivalent large-scale, high-performance C++ systems experience). * Python or Rust experience. * Experience building or integrating AI agents and MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers. * Experience with AWS, GCP, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Linux. * Experience with Tornado, HAProxy, and AWS EC2. ## Description Menlo Security is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Chromium engineering team in support of MARS, Menlo's internal AI initiative. You'll bring strong C++ skills - ideally with hands-on Chromium experience across layers such as content, browser, core, compositor, skia, and networking - to build and harden the browser capabilities that make Menlo's AI-driven features possible. The role blends deep systems and networking engineering with hands-on work on AI agents and MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers, alongside the cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform, Linux) that supports them. You'll work alongside engineers across Chromium, AI, and security disciplines to ship reliable, high-performance capabilities, using AI-assisted development tools yourself to move faster without cutting corners on quality. Key Outcome(s) Owned: * Ship reliable, high-performance Chromium-based capabilities that power Menlo's internal AI/agent initiatives (MARS), while maintaining the security and performance bar expected of Menlo's browser platform. Success Metrics / KPIs: * Feature delivery velocity against MARS roadmap milestones. * Performance and stability of shipped Chromium-based components (e.g., crash rate, latency). * Reduction in manual toil via agent/MCP-based tooling adopted internally. * Code review turnaround time and quality for C++ contributions. * Successful integration of AI agents or MCP servers into internal workflows or product surfaces. * Design, build, and maintain Chromium-based browser components in C++, working across layers such as content, browser, core, compositor, skia, and networking, that power Menlo's security and AI-driven capabilities. * Apply strong networking fundamentals and HTTP security expertise to harden Menlo's browser isolation and network-facing infrastructure. * Partner with the MARS team to build and integrate AI agent capabilities and MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers into Menlo's platform. * Use Python or Rust to build supporting tooling, services, and prototypes alongside core C++ work. * Deploy and operate the cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP) and orchestration (Kubernetes, Terraform) needed to run agent/MCP workloads reliably. * Debug and optimize performance-critical, high-scale systems across the browser and supporting infrastructure. * Collaborate cross-functionally with product, security, and AI engineering teams to ship capabilities end-to-end. * Apply AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate development, testing, and code review as part of your daily workflow. ## Related Videos - [Infrastructure as Code: The Developer's Secret Weapon](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1221-infrastructure-as-code-the-developer-s-secret-weapon) - [How I saved 200K/yr in direct costs writing 0 code lines in K8s](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1055-how-i-saved-200k-yr-in-direct-costs-writing-0-code-lines-in-k8s) - [Docker network without Docker](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1418-docker-network-without-docker) - [WeAreDevelopers LIVE: Scammer Payback with Python, Grok Goes Unhinged, The Future of Chromium and mo](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1288-wearedevelopers-live-scammer-payback-with-python-grok-goes-unhinged-the-future-of-chromium-and-mo) - [Implementing Feature Environments with AWS and Terraform](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/531-implementing-feature-environments-with-aws-and-terraform) - [WeAreDevelopers LIVE - Chrome for Sale?
