Comfortable with the measurement, channels, and multi-client pace of a digital marketing agency serving multiple clients from eComm to B2B + Experience deploying and governing LookML across multiple Looker instances. + Experience with extensible LookML and modular visualizations in a multi-tenant environment + Experience mentoring and leveling-up the technical expertise of junior team members. + Experience with git-based version control and CI/CD workflows. + Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable with both engineers and executives. Nice to have: + o Experience routing LLM queries (directing natural-language questions to the right model/Explore.) o Conversational Analytics or comparable natural-language BI tooling experience. o Claude Code or similar agentic coding tools for accelerated LookML development o dbt or equivalent analytics engineering experience ## Description Own and evolve Power Digital's enterprise LookML semantic layer as the governed foundation for analytics across our 1,000+ person organization and 600+ clients. - Write scalable and performant LookML with rich metadata to support emerging conversational analytics use cases - Translate ambiguous stakeholder and client asks into clear technical implementations, then design and optimize Looker assets that support scalable, reusable self-service analytics. - Build best-in-class data products in Looker for internal stakeholders and clients, applying strong data visualization and UI/UX principles. - Design LookML for scale and performance, partnering with Analytics Engineering on aggregate layer tuning and query optimization, and deploy and govern LookML across multiple Looker instances. - Own the LookML style guide and naming conventions, train and support users adopting self-service analytics, and mentor junior developers and analysts. - Employ AI technologies to maximize team leverage and efficiency. - Other applicable or related duties as assigned., Reuse / leverage ratio: within the first 6 months, achieve >50% of client-facing reporting delivered from shared, governed semantic components (vs. bespoke client-specific LookML). Thereafter, maintain >= 75% quarter-over-quarter, measured from Looker content lineage - Self-service deflection: within the first 6 months, increase the share of analytical questions resolved by users independently (Self-Service functionality or Omega) to 50% vs. adhoc requests from Asana and Slack. Thereafter, maintain >= 75% - Source-of-truth integrity: hold production metric-definition discrepancies and data-quality incidents at < 5%, reconciled at each monthly close across Looker and downstream surfaces (Pacing Sheets, LLMs). - User Experience: 95% of production data products load in 5 seconds or less, measured weekly - Code quality: 95% style-guide and naming-convention conformance, measured monthly Most Important Things (MITs) - Establish and maintain the LookML style guide, naming conventions, and metric-definition source of truth the rest of the team builds against. - Deliver the highest-priority Looker data products for active client and internal engagements on committed timelines. - Build and ensure routing scalability of the field-level semantic metadata required for Conversational Analytics and AI-driven queries. - Partner with Analytics Engineering to methodically tune diagnose and clear performance bottlenecks on production data products. - Mentor and deputize junior developers through hands-on PR review and pairing on modeling and visualization work.
