The IPS includes the propulsion plant (electric drive) and electrical power distribution system. Electric Boat was tasked to outfitting the space to integrate and test the lead ship motor module. Currently, the site will be used to test subsequent COLUMBIA Class motor modules. Outfitting of the motor modules will occur at the Electric Boat Quonset Point facility as well as possible focus factories in the future. A pre-production integrated test program of prototypic equipment is in progress at the IPS CTF and on-going through the start of the motor module test program.
