Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes, Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level. ## Description * Works in the Information Operations Directorate (J6), Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS), Network and Telecommunications Services (J64B), Network Operations Division (J64BA) Division. * Serves as Chief, Network Operations Division, with continuing total authority and responsibility for managing DLA network management functions / services for both DLA classified and unclassified networks located CONUS and OCONUS. * Serves as the principal advisor to DLA on technical aspects of network management and provides local and enterprise level network management support functions for the Agency, including administrating routers and firewalls. * Monitors DLA's enterprise network performance and making recommendations to DLA HQ and DISA on bandwidth issues affecting the DLA wide area network environment. * As a member of the Network and Telecommunications Services (NTS) Leadership Group, participates in NTS work acceptance process and in J6 resourcing of complex IT projects. See https://www.tsa.gov/real-id for more information. * This position and any future selections from this announcement may be used to fill various shifts located anywhere within DLA Information Operations, J6., Directs, supervises, and develops a team of network professionals responsible for operating, administering, and provisioning all enterprise network equipment and services. - Develops and executes an effective equipment life cycle and technology refresh plan, including market research and technical specifications for company-wide procurements. - Monitors network performance, security, and reliability, directing corrective actions to resolve service degradation or outages promptly. - Manages network compliance with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and directs mitigation strategies for Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs) and other cybersecurity directives. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
