TEAM & LEADERSHIP SKILLS * Excellent communication skills - clear, succinct, and persuasive with employees, customers, and management, including executives. * Strong mentoring skills, with demonstrated ability to influence and develop both junior and peer-level engineers. * Self-starter attitude with the ability to make decisions independently in a highly matrixed environment. * Demonstrated ability to drive results across cross-functional teams while maintaining effective working relationships. * Demonstrated ability to work effectively with distributed teams, including across time zones. Nice to Haves * Experience actively shaping industry standards, not just consuming them. * Track record building a technical organization from near-zero headcount. * Track record spanning both cloud-side agentic infrastructure and edge/on-device AI systems. ## Description At Senior Staff, you shape the technical direction of how Intuit participates in - and influences - the platform shift to agentic money. The window to do this is real but finite: once the industry's protocols finalize, they either embed Intuit's verified financial context and edge AI capability as first-class citizens, or they route around them. Your job is ensuring the former., What You'll Do * Identify and resolve cross-cutting technical problems with genuinely unclear definitions - including which emerging standards to commit to and which to stay agnostic across, spanning payment protocols, edge AI, and trust infrastructure. * Set technical direction across the team's active capability areas, driving architectural evolution as individual efforts mature from validated concept toward shipped product. * Distinguish foundational decisions that need deliberate, cross-team planning from those suited to fast, reversible experimentation, especially where one capability underpins several others. * Own strategic viability at every customer-facing deliverable, ensuring what the team produces is defensible against Intuit's competitive position, not just technically impressive. * Represent the team's technical strategy to SLT, BD, Legal/Compliance, and domain product leadership, translating engineering proof points into the case for organizational investment and standards influence. * Build an experimentation mindset into how the team validates bets - designing solutions to run behind experiment flags, with clear hypotheses, success metrics, and kill criteria defined before code is written, so a bet's outcome is a measured result, not a subjective call. ## Related Videos - [Building the Next Generation of Software](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100186-building-the-next-generation-of-software) - [Understanding Kubernetes in a visual way](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100085-understanding-kubernetes-in-a-visual-way) - [Do TypeScript without TypeScript](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/327-do-typescript-without-typescript) - [Hosting a modern justice system](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/332-hosting-a-modern-justice-system) - [Inside Bitpanda's Tech Stack: Scaling a European Fintech Leader - Markus Dorner](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1979-inside-bitpanda-s-tech-stack-scaling-a-european-fintech-leader-markus-dorner) - [Instant KAI Sandboxes with vCluster: Multi-Tenant, Multi-Scheduler GPU Sharing](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100333-instant-kai-sandboxes-with-vcluster-multi-tenant-multi-scheduler-gpu-sharing) ## Related Articles - [Navigating the AI Shift](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/629-navigating-the-ai-shift) - [Highest Paying Tech Companies for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/220-highest-paying-tech-companies-for-developers) - [The Fastest-Growing Tech Sectors to Look Out for in 2025](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/373-the-fastest-growing-tech-sectors-to-look-out-for-in-2025) - [The Biggest German Tech Companies](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/424-the-biggest-german-tech-companies) - [How to Answer the Interview Question: “Why Do You Want to Be a Software Engineer?”](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/392-how-to-answer-the-interview-question-why-do-you-want-to-be-a-software-engineer) - [What is Software Engineering in the Age of AI?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/640-what-is-software-engineering-in-the-age-of-ai)
