## About the Role

* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
 * 3+ years of design engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
 * Strong proficiency with SolidWorks, including part, assembly, and drawing creation.
 * Experience with plastics manufacturing processes such as injection molding, extrusion, thermoforming, or similar.
 * Proven experience designing fixtures, tooling, jigs, and custom manufacturing equipment.
 * Strong understanding of GD&T, manufacturing drawings, and engineering best practices.
 * Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

## Description

The Design Engineer will work within the Engineering & Manufacturing department, focusing on creating and optimizing designs that meet functional requirements of injection molded components while ensuring cost-effectiveness and manufacturability near Akron, Ohio.

 * Design and develop plastic components, fixtures, tooling, and production equipment using SolidWorks.
 * Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings.
 * Support new product development and existing product improvements.
 * Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and operations teams to ensure designs are optimized for production.
 * Design and implement fixtures, jigs, gauges, and tooling to improve manufacturing efficiency.
 * Troubleshoot production issues and develop engineering solutions.
 * Conduct design reviews, testing, and validation activities.
 * Maintain engineering documentation, bills of materials, and revision control.
