Comprehensive understanding of Epic applications and integration with clinical processes and workflows. * Knowledge of technology-related initiatives and an understanding of how to plan for impacts to clinical and operational workflows, policies, and practices. * Applies proven human resources management skills in staff selection, development, and evaluation. Creates a strong culture of teamwork to ensure the quality of daily operations, effective interdepartmental collaborations, and the timely achievement of objectives * Demonstrated leadership skills managing IT professionals and collaborating with Operational and Clinical Leaders * Proven managerial skills in planning and delegating work, deploying staff, resource management, budgeting, and financial management * Strong critical-thinking, project-management, and problem solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and interpret complex data and systems, to quickly identify problems and implement solutions * Proven ability to work effectively with senior management on operational and performance issues in developing goals, objectives, policies, strategies, quality improvement programs, systems for monitoring and ensuring user competence on Epic applications * Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train users and to successfully manage extensive cross-functional Interactions between the Epic applications team, users, related personnel, and outside vendors * Proven ability to manage Epic Patient Registration and Grand Central applications program development, software testing, estimates of costs and resource needs, budgets, distributed clinical information systems, and user support systems and executing them through subordinates * Ability to convey complex information in a clear, concise, and specific manner, and to cultivate a strong commitment to quality and achievement of goals. * Strong knowledge of healthcare information technology, Patient Registration, Patient Flow, and Grand Central Epic workflows and processes and medical terminology * Comprehensive understanding of Epic application and integration with clinical and financial process and workflows Preferred Qualifications * Proven ability to organize, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and delegate Epic application work efficiently, with strong human resources management skills and knowledge. * Knowledge and understanding of University policies and procedures., * Sustained attention and concentration - Frequent 3 to 6 Hours * Complex problem solving/reasoning - Frequent 3 to 6 Hours * Ability to organize & prioritize - Frequent 3 to 6 Hours * Communication skills - Frequent 3 to 6 Hours * Numerical skills - Occasional Up to 3 Hours * Constant Interaction - Occasional Up to 3 Hours * Customer/Patient Contact - Occasional Up to 3 Hours * Multiple Concurrent Tasks - Frequent 3 to 6 Hours ## Description Provides leadership over the patient registration and patient movement application teams. This position manages the enhancement, maintenance, and operational support of Epic's Grand Central, RTE, and Prelude applications. This position also manages the implementation of the related Epic systems and third-party applications conducive to optimization and the execution of UCDH's strategic objectives. The role oversees all aspects of the application operations support and new system implementation including managing urgent system fixes, application upgrades, requirements gathering, analysis, design, build, testing, and deployment and support for UCDH and hosted affiliates. The position works with department administrators, manages and staff in Finance, Managed Care, Clinical Operations, Patient Care Services, Perioperative Services, Ancillary Departments, HIM, and cross functional teams, and subject matter experts throughout the health system delivery process.
