## About the Role

Ability to learn new automation technologies such as Python, Groovy/Java, and Jenkins Pipelines., Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

 - At least 7 years of experience within a total information technology (IT) environment
 - At least 7 years of experience with the design, development and support of technology infrastructure

Preferred Skills/Experience

Extensive experience in:

 * Mainframe technologies
 * Technical troubleshooting of OPS/MVS issues
 * Complex z/OS Sysplex environments
 * Automating mainframe tasks across our environment.

Subject matter expert in:

 * REXX Programming
 * OPS/MVS
 * IPL and shutdown processing
 * Subsystems such as CICS, IMS, JES2, MQ, and DB2
 * HMC operations
 * JCL
 * Knowledge of BMC products.

## Description

U.S. Bank is seeking a Mainframe Automation Engineer that has extensive experience in mainframe system automation technologies. This individual should be self-motivated and driven to help contribute toward the success of our mainframe technology initiatives. This person will work in a team environment supporting multiple systems in a highly redundant and robust mainframe environment.

Responsibilities Include

-Create and Maintain OPS/MVS REXX rules, SSM tables, and programs

-Resolve Automation issues

-Collaborate with other infrastructure, application, and operations areas on their automation needs.

-Provide support during z/OS Upgrades

-Participate in DR recovery and testing

-Work with vendors for system support and problem resolution
