## About the Role

Do you have a valid Driver's License license?, Do you have experience in Tooling?, Do you have a Trade school?, * Proficiency in interpreting and mapping property legal descriptions.

 * Familiarity with creating tools or automation using ModelBuilder or scripting.
 * Skilled in map production using ArcGIS Pro., * Bachelor's degree in geographic information systems, geography, planning, landscape architecture, civil engineering, computer science, or a related field
 * OR Two years at a technical or vocational school.
 * and two years of experience working with geographic information systems.
 * Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
 * All finalists for positions are subject to a criminal background check applicable to the department or position.
 * Some positions require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage. For information regarding pre-screening and driving positions, The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:
 * Experience creating maps using ArcGIS Pro.
 * Experience conducting complex spatial analysis.
 * Experience developing scripts and using ModelBuilder.
 * Experience administering or configuring ArcGIS Online content.
 * Experience providing quality customer service to internal and external customers.
 * Experience interpreting and mapping property legal descriptions.

## Description

The Planning and Development Department (PDD) Senior Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Technician is responsible for producing high-quality maps and maintaining GIS datasets that support planning and permitting workflows. Typical duties include producing a variety of mapping products, performing spatial analysis, maintaining permit related datasets, interpreting legal descriptions, and assisting with simple automation tasks using ArcGIS Online (AGOL), ModelBuilder, or basic scripting. Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro and experience supporting internal and external customers is desired.
