## About the Role

+ Minimum one (1) year of current experience within the past five (5) years supporting information technology systems.
 + Current CompTIA A+ certification.
 + Current CompTIA Security+ certification.
 + Knowledge of computer and network security principles.
 + Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills.
 + Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
 + Experience supporting Microsoft Windows-based systems, hardware, software, and networks.
 + Experience with AFAEMS, Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT) systems, and My Learning CDC Assessment System is desirable but not required.
Work Classification: Part-Time, Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-12:30 PM (25 hours per week).

## Description

The Information Technology Specialist is responsible for the administration, maintenance, security, and support of computer systems, network infrastructure, software applications, and technology equipment supporting the Education & Training Section. This position provides technical support, maintains system reliability, supports technology improvements, and ensures uninterrupted operations.
Responsibilities

 + Administer, maintain, and support computer systems, servers, network infrastructure, wireless networks, and technology equipment.
 + Install, configure, troubleshoot, upgrade, and maintain hardware, software, operating systems, and peripheral devices.
 + Provide technical support to users and resolve system, network, software, and equipment issues.
 + Maintain system documentation, backup and recovery procedures, inventories, and activity reports.
 + Monitor system performance, data integrity, and information security.
 + Support technology planning, equipment lifecycle management, and infrastructure improvements.
 + Research and recommend hardware, software, and technology solutions.
 + Train personnel on software applications, technology tools, and security procedures.
 + Maintain accountability for assigned technology assets and equipment inventories.
 + Respond to emergency system outages and provide technical support as required.
